2005 ARKLAHOMA SHOOTOUT Report: The 2005 Arklahoma was a wonderful time I think for all teams win or lose. Great baseball was played over the two beautiful days. The Rogers Parks had the fields prepped as best they could and even built new mounds! It was just awesome all around. Our visiting teams from Tahlequah and North East Arkansas played great baseball and were great visitors. I look forward to having them back next year along with a number of other new faces. We didn't raise a ton of money for our charity of choice, but I think we will be able to write a check to the Champions for Kids for $1000.00. Every little bit helps.
Thank yous go out to the Rogers Parks, BUNWA, the teams: Tahlequah Thunder (Mark Dreadfulwater), NEA MABL (Lexx Loyd), Pirates (Don Longley), Red Sox (Clinton Preston), Deerz (Matt Villines), and White Sox. Thanks to Jeff Kennet of the Pirates for helping out with everything and to my teammates on the White Sox for carrying all my stuff around while I tried to play host.
Lastly, as always I would like to personally thank all the fans, family, and friends who came out to support our teams. Wives, Daughters, Sons, Fathers, Mothers, Uncles, Cousins, Girlfriends, Sponsors, Co-Workers, Friends, and so on... Without them, our league is meaningless. Please continue to support our leagues and we will continue to strive to provide great (cheap) entertainment, great sportsmanship, and a wonderful recreational outlet for the men you support. Baseball is a family event greatly rooted in American History and should be well preserved, so thanks again for your encouragement and attendance. --Stephen Boudreaux, President NWAMSBL
